Meditation Retreat
Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th May 2012
One or two
days of meditation training utilizing Tai Chi, Chi Gung and seated meditation
practice.
Have you ever wanted to be calmer when under
stress? Have you ever wanted to be healthier? Have you ever wished that you didn't get EVERY Winter cold? Have you
ever wanted to be able to study more easily? Have you ever laid awake in bed wishing that you could get to
sleep?
What can help with all of the above? It's
learning the ability to meditate. Meditation is a hugely powerful mind/body practice that can positively benefit
you in a wide number of ways.
Meditation is also probably one of the most ancient forms of self-development that there
is.

TESTIMONIAL
I recently attended Robert's meditation
retreat. not really knowing what to expect I had a fair amount of trepidation. However, Robert
soon put those worries to rest with his light hearted banter and natural confidence which comes
from being very knowledgeable around a subject.
The venue is in a lovely rural
position, and a very calming and comfortable space. As I live in Cheltenham it was only a ten
minute drive for me, unlike others in the group who had traveled greater distances to be there.
We were given concise and easy
to understand instruction, which came with much patience when we didn't always pick things up
immediately. Robert also gave us much background information, helping to make sense, or put into
context harder to understand principles.
As you would expect from a
"meditation" retreat, there was much serenity and a calming atmosphere, but this was nicely
interspersed by humour and Robert's anecdotes and stories.....he can certainly tell a story!!!
The time passed much too quickly, and
although there was much to take in, it didn't feel like an overload of information. It just seemed
to flow nicely and before you knew it, you were doing an exercise without thinking about it.
I am looking forward to the next
retreat where I intend to "re-treat" myself to another immersion of relaxation techniques and
some more of Robert's stories!!!! lol Carl Reece.

The meditation retreat will focus on the Chinese arts of Tai Chi (meditation in movement) and Chi Gung (static and
moving meditation) both of which have been helping people for hundreds of years to improve both mental and physical
health. Add to the mix, an understanding of modern physiology and psychology and you have a recipe that can give
you either awesome mental and physical benefits, an introduction to both ancient and modern practices or simply a
pleasant and relaxing weekend. It's your choice as to why you come along and what you take
away...
The instructor, Robert Agar-Hutton, has been teaching Tai Chi for over 20 years and holds a first class honours
degree in Martial Arts and Sports Psychology from the University of Derby which was awarded in 2010.
You can come to the meditation
retreat here at our purpose-built training venue in lovely rural Gloucestershire (although it is less
than a ten minute drive away from Gloucester city). You can come for either one or two days and learn how
meditation can help you:
-
Improve your ability to
relax.
-
Maintain and improve your
health.
-
-
Improve your
concentration.
-
Obtain greater clarity of
mind.
-
Improve your resistance to
stress.
and much much more.... Oh yes, it's highly enjoyable
too.

TESTIMONIAL
I was very keen to learn more about meditation but was a little apprehensive as a
non-martial artist. It soon became apparent that I needn’t have been, as Robert’s style of teaching
through a mixture of knowledge, skill and humour had us all stretching, breathing and learning a
multitude of techniques to help us with the practical aspect of meditation. Since the course I’ve
found that I’m able to take a moment to respond to a situation with more calmness than I used to
and my wife says I sleep easier and that she likes the calmer me! Anthony
